About Me
I'm in the business of building bridges and bringing out the best in people. Two years ago, I resolved that "potential" was something I no longer wanted to possess--I wanted purpose and promise. I've been walking facing forward ever since.
In 2012, I joined the Higher Education field and haven't let go since. At Elgin Community College, I serve as the Student Life Coordinator for Targeted Populations which simply means I love, lift, and lead African-American students who are thirsty for excellence, academically, personally, and professionally. My job was created because African-American students on campus asked for a liaison that would be there for them, helping them with academic, professional, and personal needs. I count it an honor to serve daily and look forward to meeting new faces and celebrating every success along the way.
We will not be bound by any barriers. We will fly and we will always aim high.
Student Services offered:
Resource connection, leadership development and opportunities, field trips, creating programs/workshops based on student input/interest, academic motivation and skill development. My office is a place of rest, discussion, reminders, and reconnecting with vision.
